Flowers BEFORE Sex In The Bahamas

Hey guys – I made this super fun 2 min cartoon video for you, to make it crystal clear why 80% of web businesses fail, and how you can simply avoid it.

My gift; enjoy.

Watch this, and then would you post a comment telling me what you learned and how you can apply the lesson straight away in your (current or future) online business?

Watch this video

Cheers!

I am in Life Coaching in Spanish for quite a few years. I understand the rule of no sale in the first visit to a site, however I am doing something wrong when selling my self. Free sessions I believe I give too much information in the first interview.
Years ego I got my first lesson through you “Solution Box” excellent tools. I would love to have a word with you.

  7. Fun video, and an absolutely on-target point! It’s reminded me that it’s time to create for my own website a few downloadable PDFs with useful content that supplements what’s on my blog and that will indeed prompt site visitors to leave their email addresses and start a conversation with me. Thanks for the timely reminder!

Haha! I loved the vid! I read the GetPaidForWhoYouAre book a few months ago and I’m finally beginning to apply some of the lessons learned. Because my passion is learning new languages I am sharing tips and fun facts about learning a new language (the flowers). Later on I plan to sell my very own product (the sex). Thanks!

    What did I learn?
    1) $5,000.00 does not a profitable site make.
    2) People want to know who you are and why they would buy from you (Flowers)
    3) If you’re not willing to introduce yourself and create trust, you will create a $5,000.00 black hole
    4) Weebly Rocks
    5) Flash alone is just that – flash, no content.
    6) Animated characters are fun to watch and make you want to return to the person who made them.
    7) Don’t automatically assume . . . learn something first (like, ummm – from YOU?)

  21. On your advice, I’m working on my weebly site, which is pretty easy, though as I’m a deorative painter/muralist, it requires a lot of photos, as well as time spent working out the best content. I had heard the “flowers before sex” bit in another of your presentations, but not the important bit about capturing the email address. Duh. I guess I better go back and read all the appendices and extras, which I breezed past, as I’m in the middle of writing a decorating book, and am just scrambling to get enough web presence to please publishers, who now expect this. My book is time-sensitive, so I can’t get the whole internet thing running beforehand, but I am so grateful that your book arrived in my inbox at the same time I discovered that I needed exactly this information. By the time I go to press, I’ll have the internet portion of my business properly in place. btw: I adore orange roses…:)))

I so love what you are doing David! I love that it’s play for you, not work. My goal is to learn how to make what I do??? fun. I have talent, and “gifts”, but not a physical product yet. I’ve never felt comfortable about selling myself as a product. But that’s the old game. It’s a new day and a new game. Thanks for your help and your energy. I’m presently working on an artistic product for a contest locally. I’m also working on a personal story of rising like a phoenix after the tragic loss of my son. It’s uplifting, believe it or not. I’m taking some online courses from two high energy authors/publishers presently. I seek out mentors who match my energy, energy with so tons of positive spiritual vibes. So I’ve a lot to juggle right now, but I am loving it because I feel connected to positive resources. You feel like one of those to me.

I am currently morphing into a new niche and not sure how to reflect that change in direction on the website. My mission has not changed, however, I am actively pursuing a different market where I know the need is higher and the funds are available to tap my services. Soon, I plan to make radical changes in the existing site or create an entirely different more hip upbeat site that will attract the younger market.

“It’s not that kind of website,” was one of the better takeaway messages. Maybe if it was more like that kind of website (i.e. high definition graphics, free samples, easy setup and payment schemes, pop advertisements promoting similar services based on the propensities of the viewers, data tracking and data mining capabililites) the $5,000 and the Flash capabilities would be worth it.

Great message and great way to tell it. Looking forward to your Monday announcement.

Very funny! One of the better ones I’ve seen from this service.

Very important: Make sure you have a commercial account with them because the terms of service say you cannot use their service for the purpose of generating revenues and you may be crossing the line here with advertising an upcoming paid for event … something everyone should be aware of.

from the discerning eye of a lawyer – always read the license agreement and terms of service.

The first thing that entered my mind whilst watching this video was that there are Artificial Intelligences at play in the background. What excited me the most was a thought for a new and exciting game. Imagine if all of the bots online were given an animated character and embedded into a game like Starcraft? Or Ebony or a hand-to-hand-combat game(animated) where it would be a true battle for world domination of the Bots!

If it was ever created, each bot would raise gold coins but in the same process, they would have to surrender some of those coins to a nominated charity.

A polling system or voting system via mobile phone users, similar to those used on American Idol would be put into play, and additional gold coins raised by this method, would automatically be added to a charity pool.

But the main theme of the Game, is to establish once and for all time, Who is the strongest, most wittiest and aggressive bot from all of the major players who dominate the Internet spectrum.

It would be a Win, Win for all concerned!

Great reminder to focus on the core mission of a web site – create a two-way relationship with the client first.

To expect a first contact to result in a sale is like expecting a resume to result in a job offer. It’s just the first step – after that, the communication and relationship is what counts.

THAT was funny! 🙂 Thanks for another great video David!

I recently made a hobby site just for fun, and I remembered reading that message in your book, “Get Paid For Who You Are” (great book BTW!) Even though my site wasn’t created with a business in mind, I went back and instead of giving away all the templates on the site as I originally did, I asked them to “join the club” by sending me an email and I would send the templates to them, collecting email addresses in the process. I don’t have any plans at the moment to sell anything, but your message got me to think outside my normal range. Who knows? I might decide to sell rubber stamps to club members or something like that someday and I’ll have an email base to start with.

I’m a big fan, and thank you for your work!

  75. Hi,
Thanks for this smile in the morning. LOL! I didn’t find a laughing ninja, so I just got a cute one. I really agree, we need more people on our list and to send things out to them. Just have so much more going on. Please tell me more!

Thank you David! I shall definitely check my inbox on Monday 🙂 Been working on my website and it’s beginning to look like something I can ask for feedback on. Still a lot to do but at least it’s moving Katrina
